Product Description
From “America’s most imaginative contemporary novelist” (Newsweek), a novel of Frank Lloyd Wright and the women in his life.
Having brought to life eccentric cereal king John Harvey Kellogg in The Road to Wellville and sex researcher Alfred Kinsey in The Inner Circle, T.C. Boyle now turns his fictional sights on an even more colorful and outlandish character: Frank Lloyd Wright. Boyle’s incomparable account of Wright’s life is told through the experiences of the four women who loved him. There’s the Montenegrin beauty Olgivanna Milanoff, the passionate Southern belle Maude Miriam Noel, the tragic Mamah Cheney, and his young first wife, Kitty Tobin. Blazing with his trademark wit and inventiveness, Boyle deftly captures these very different women and the creative life in all its complexity.

Buy the hardcover at this price but do not give in to this silly Kindle price. Does the author play a part in the pricing or just the publisher and Amazon. I would hate to think that T C Boyle has any responsibility as I admire his writing immensely.

I really wanted to read this book but I agree with the other reviewers that the price is too high. I love my Kindle but I am not totally opposed to waiting for this to be available at the library.

I was interested in this book, but am not interested at the current price. Without the cost of production and distribution, I expect books to be $9.99 or less. Will wait for paper back or get it from the library.

Sorry, but this is a rip off. I love my Kindle and TC Boyle is one of my favourite authors but, like everyone else, I see no justification for this kind of pricing. This is pure greed on the part of the publisher. With low to non-existent costs for book production and distribution $9.99 is quite expensive enough. Amazon should have pushed back rather than allow this into the store at this price. The Kindle can only be hurt by this.

This heavily marketed book has plenty to recommend it: an excellent writer and a fascinating subject — Frank Lloyd Wright and the women in his life. I’m a big Kindle user, and I’ve been waiting for this book — but not at this price! We Kindlers expect our $9.99 books. In my mind, that’s part of the deal. Sorry…I’ll wait.
